Road Trip!!
The other day I got to go on a road trip with my Daddy. Just me and Daddy. We went down to College Station to have a "constellation" with a doctor at their Vet school. I have hip displeasure, and it's hurts to walk or play with my big sister Annabelle. They say I need an operation, maybe two. Daddy gets a discount at the school because he works for Texas ANM, so he was happy to drive me down there.
I had a lot of fun--at first. It was a beautiful day and there was lots of stinky stuff to smell so I sat by the window most of the time. Daddy stopped at a place called Woody's Smokehouse twice. I went to the bathroom, but I wasn't allowed to go inside. It smelled like the most wonderful place on earth. Then we passed a skunk, some dead stuff and lots of cows and chicken farms. It was great!
I met Daddy's friend Sarah, who's going to be a doggy doctor someday too. The doctor was really nice, but she wanted to take more x-rays of my hips. So she took me down a hall and the next thing I know I'm waking up in a cage and my hips really hurt. Then I got a shot and they took my blood! No kidding, they took some of my blood. Go figure. The doctor told Daddy that if they cut off the top part of my leg bone (it's called an FHO), it will stop rubbing on the inside of my hip, and I'll feel a lot better. I'm not sure I like the sound of that. How come I don't really need that part of my leg? But that's what the doctor said. Go figure.
Daddy took me back to the car and we headed back home for Dallas. I was glad to get out of that place. I really didn't feel well though, so I slept in the back all the way home. I didn't even want a nibble of the Turkey Jerky that Daddy offered me after we stopped at Woody's again. (I had some later though and it was good! I highly recommend that all people eat it--and share it with their dogs.)
When we finally got home I was so glad to see Annabelle that I peed all over myself. Daddy thought that was really funny. I don't get it, but Daddy's like that.
I'm finally starting to feel back to normal again. That's why I haven't written much in the last couple of days. We'll be going back down there again at the end of June. I'm not looking forward to having an operation, but it will be nice to be able to play with Annie again and not have any pain. I'm finally going to kick her a** for a change!
