I landed a cover shot for The Storque. Check it out!
HOUNDMADE completed its first craft show this weekend. It was a small one at the YMCA in Highland Park. 15% of the proceeds went towards the preschool program and since my person, Jennifer is a teacher and all, we thought this sounded like a good deal.
The turnout was sort of low. Most people were there to workout and were surprised to see a craft show going on right outside yoga class. I will say that despite the lack of advertising, HOUNDMADE received lots of good compliments! We sold a couple of custom pet portraits too, which is good because that's what Jennifer loves doing best.
We also passed out lots of postcards for the Urban Street Bazaar. We are really looking forward to that show. Now that we've warmed up a bit we are ready to take on the big crowds! Should be a lot of fun.
In other news, Sideways-Pu-Tei-Bubba-Dog is doing MUCH better. He is practically back to his old self just like the vet said he would be. His head is still a bit sideways and he stumbles a lot, but he still manages to beg for food and follow Jennifer around the house all day.
As for Annie and I, we plan on running around in the backyard all day and getting covered mud. That's about it.
Bark Bark.
You can see some of it right now at HOUNDMADE.etsy.com.
So sorry to leave you hanging, but I had to get of the computer because my people had to work.
Let's see....so, Annie and I were anxiously waiting for our people's return. About three hours later, they finally got back and guess what? They had Bubba with them! He came home. Annie and I were so happy. He was still all wobbly and sideways, but he seemed a little perkier. I heard Matt and Jenn say something about "totally tubular" canine syndrome. He was like, kind of acting like an airhead. I also heard them saying that he should be back to normal in a couple of days.
Later on, I saw Jennifer looking at this web page that probably explains things better than I can. Oh, and I figured out what Bubba really has... Canine Vestibular Syndrome. Silly me.

So old Bubba (aka, Sideways) did it again. He scared us all to death with some crazy illness that made us think that he was going to die. $500 later, what we know is what we've always known. Bubba is going to live FOREVER!
Well, finally, Bubba got up. He even went outside with me and ate breakfast with me.
I thought everything was back to normal. Well, I was wrong. It wasn't much longer and Bubba started falling down again. Soon, there was no getting him up. Did I mention he weighs 90 pounds?
About this same time, I noticed that he was tilting his head to the right and his eyes looked really twitchy. If Jennifer did manage to get him up, he'd wobble over to the right and fall down. Something was terribly wrong.
Jennifer and Matt (my other person) noticed this too and before I knew it, Matt was carrying Bubba out the door and they were gone. I was really worried that I was never going to see Bubba again. In fact, Jennifer told me to tell him goodbye. I think she thought this was it for old Bubba too.
...to be continued.
